The map shows where important buildings and institutions were located and how the numbers of houses were arranged in the 19th century. The buildings of the university are especially well represented – Library, the Old Anatomical Theatre, Clinic etc. Over the river Emajõgi led 2 bridges: the Wooden and the Stone Bridge. People could across the river also with the raft (Praht). The street network of Ülejõe quarters is partially destroyed today.
